FIRST FLOOR THEATER   *WORLD PREMIERE*

Chance Stevens is a young gay man who seems to have everything...but wants something more. He dives deep into the city’s seedy underbelly, picks up a drug habit, and begins a relationship with a handsome, HIV-positive baker, while falsely claiming to be positive himself. Reviews

"Enrapturing performances and production style..."

“Hutch Pimentel's thought-provoking and confident production for First Floor Theater is directed and acted with the sort of brute force that can make the most jaded viewer squeamish, viscerally and intellectually…(Recommended)"

— Dan Jakes, Chicago Reader

“One of the Best”

“In a town known nationally for the gritty realism that was born at places like Steppenwolf, I have yet to see a better example of the genre than what is put forth by Hutch Pimentel and his cast…..I left the theatre feeling like I’d been punched in the gut... in a good way. This was a powerful and meaningful piece that leaves you more than a little shaken in the end. It does everything a play should, and it does it really well.”

— Theatre by Numbers

"Recommended"

"Even in some of its most intense moments, this cast, the playwright and director Hutch Pimentel have found humor and heart, proving that even the toughest material can have moments of levity. It is an emotional gauntlet but one you are going to be so glad you ran.”
